What he should do is to support not just our ports, but to also help improve rail access all across the state.

We need to convince the people of Georgia that we cannot afford to short change the schoolchildren of Georgia by devaluing teachers and shortening students' time on task. I must have missed the research which showed Georgia students as being overprepared, because this Governor and his Republican legislature have continuously cut and slashed the education budget for eight years. The damage won't show up immediately, and it maybe covered up by the Superintendent of Schools, but the damage will be apparent in a few years. By then many of the best teachers will have departed. Student learning will have been comprimised by years of increased class size, lower quality teachers and reduced resources. This trend will be very difficult to reverse. We need to work to get a man back into the Governor's seat who is a friend of schoolchildren and values education.
